Our Impact

Our Vision:

A world where every person facing end-of-life can find comfort, connection, and greater joy in their final days.

Beyond the basket:

The return isn't just a patient's better day - it's grief that feels lighter and memories that the family carries forward, shaping their well-being long after hospice ends.

The gap we close:

Hospice centers manage pain and medical needs, but they are not built, financially or logistically, to meet the human-scale wishes critical to coping with end-of-life.

Cost and Capacity

Hospice centers are often not equipped to fulfill individual patient requests — a book, a small party, a bouquet of flowers...

Family Strain

Families already stretched thin by caregiving and grief carry the added burden of trying to meet these wishes themselves.

Isolation

Small comforts-teddy bears, lockets, handwritten cards-are missing, even when they matter most.

In 2025-2026, we...

How we measure impact

It's not just about a patient's better day. It's about the lightened grief and lasting memory a family carries forward, long after hospice ends.

Phase 1 - Story & Anecdote Collection

Underway

We're collecting short, open-ended reflections from patients (where appropriate) or families after they receive a basket or wish fulfillment. These stories help us understand how we can improve and best support them through our efforts.

Sample prompt: "What did receiving this [gift or wish] mean to you or your family?"

Phase 2 - Survey Administration

The next 12 months

Once funding supports it, we'll introduce a brief, validated survey to measure impact more formally — not just whether a wish was fulfilled, but how it shaped a family's wellbeing during and after hospice.

Tool: CQLI-R (Caregiver Quality of Life Index–Revised), a short, hospice-validated caregiver wellbeing measure.
